|Gamma Too Low|

In some modern displays a control called Gamma can be found, it's use has a large effect on the visual appearance. Although the result can be confused with brightness and contrast settings and adjustments. A low gamma setting can appear visually similar to having the Brightness control set too high. If the luminance through the mid-tones is too bright, the image will appear "washed out" and will not have the depth that draws a viewer in to the image.
